House of Travel, New Zealand’s largest travel company, has revealed that Bali, recently voted Asia’s most beautiful island, is now one of the most popular destinations for Kiwi travelers—alongside Tokyo and Hanoi.
While long-time favorites like Queensland, Fiji, London, the Cook Islands, and Sydney still attract many New Zealanders, new travel trends show a strong interest in emerging destinations across Asia.
David Coombes, CEO of House of Travel, said his company has seen a major increase in bookings to these newer hotspots. Holiday bookings to Hanoi are up 130% compared to last year, with a 32% rise for Bali and an 11% increase for Tokyo.
“This growth shows a real change in where Kiwis want to go,” Coombes said. “Families are becoming more confident about traveling to new places—especially where the New Zealand dollar stretches further.”
With more New Zealanders looking for unique experiences and value for money, destinations like Hanoi, Bali, and Tokyo are becoming top picks for their culture, affordability, and adventure.
