The ONroute Maple Travel Plaza, located on Highway 400 South in Ontario, will officially close its doors on April 21, 2025, as announced by the company.
In a notice to professional drivers, ONroute explained that the closure was due to “factors beyond our control.” The Maple Travel Plaza, which has served travelers for years, offered amenities such as free Wi-Fi, an ATM, 31 commercial vehicle parking spaces, a pet area, and seasonal picnic tables.
A statement from ONroute’s spokesperson, provided to TruckNews.com, clarified that work requiring the site’s closure will need to begin by April 30, 2025. ONroute confirmed that the company will cease operations at the location before that deadline, though the future use of the land remains uncertain.
The company has assured customers that it is working closely with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to manage the closure with minimal disruption to services and support for employees, partners, and guests. They also announced plans for a replacement site in the future.
