Macao was named the “International Favourite Destination” at the 2025 Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair, which kicked off with its opening ceremony on Saturday, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
In addition to this honor, the MGTO was awarded the “Best National Tourism Organisation Booth” at the event, which is Malaysia’s largest tourism fair for consumers. This marked the office’s first participation in the fair since the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted travel.

The MGTO used the occasion to promote Macao as an ideal short-haul destination for Malaysian travelers, highlighting the region’s unique East-meets-West cultural heritage, integrated resorts, events, festivals, and gastronomy.
