As the summer travel season wraps up, Tennesseans are already turning their attention to holiday travel plans. A recent AAA survey reveals that over half of Tennessee residents (56%) are planning to take an overnight trip between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
The survey also highlights booking trends: more than 40% of Tennesseans typically start arranging their holiday trips before September. In contrast, 40% begin their bookings from September to October, while a smaller fraction waits until the last minute, with only 11% booking in November and 7% in December.
Debbie Haas, Vice President of Travel for AAA – The Auto Club Group, emphasizes the benefits of early planning. “To have more options for your holiday travel, it’s advisable to book before October,” Haas said. “Early booking can help secure your preferred itinerary at a competitive price. With half of Tennesseans traveling during the holiday season, popular options are likely to fill up quickly.”
