EaseMyTrip.com has unveiled ScanMyTrip.com, marking the launch of India’s first travel marketplace integrated with the ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) Network. This pioneering platform is designed to empower online travel agencies (OTAs), micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), travel agents, and homestays by allowing them to list their services—such as flights, hotels, and homestays—on the ONDC network, thus connecting them to an extensive digital marketplace.
With this development, EaseMyTrip becomes the first OTA to both buy and sell travel services through the ONDC platform. The integration is anticipated to transform the interaction between businesses in the travel and tourism sector and their customers, offering smaller service providers the chance to reach a wider audience and enhance their competitiveness in the digital arena.
ScanMyTrip.com is designed to streamline the onboarding process, enabling travel businesses to connect with potential customers and benefit from the growing digital infrastructure provided by ONDC. Earlier this year, EaseMyTrip underscored its commitment to digital transformation by signing a Letter of Intent with ONDC at the ‘ONDC Startup Mahotsav.’
Rikant Pittie, Co-founder of EaseMyTrip, commented on the launch: “We are thrilled to introduce India’s first technology that addresses the fundamental challenges faced by numerous travel service providers. By integrating ScanMyTrip.com with the ONDC Network, we are ensuring that every provider, from homestays to MSMEs, has the opportunity to succeed in a competitive digital market. Our objective is to equip businesses of all sizes with advanced digital tools to help them grow and reach new customers.”
This initiative underscores EaseMyTrip’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth and advancing digital innovation within the tourism industry, simplifying the path for businesses to thrive in the e-commerce ecosystem.
Thampy Koshy, MD and CEO of ONDC, remarked, “EaseMyTrip’s integration into the ONDC network represents a significant milestone in our efforts to create a more inclusive and transparent travel ecosystem. This move will enhance opportunities for MSMEs and small homestays, foster equitable competition, and align with our mission to streamline and democratize the travel experience and overall e-commerce landscape.”
