British Airways has announced plans to significantly increase its flight schedules for summer 2025, marking a record number of services between London and key destinations in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
From London Heathrow, the airline will double its Miami service to 14 flights per week. Additionally, British Airways will introduce a new twice-daily year-round service and open a new lounge in Miami.
The airline will add six more flights per week to Austin, Texas, raising the total to 13 weekly services. The Las Vegas route will see a three-flight-per-week increase during peak summer months, totaling 10 weekly flights. The Pittsburgh route will expand from six to seven flights per week, offering daily service for the first time since its inception. Washington D.C. will receive 21 flights weekly, an increase of seven flights.
Flights between London Gatwick and Cancun will be boosted from six to seven per week, making it a daily service starting next summer. Vancouver will see up to 14 British Airways flights per week from Heathrow, a rise of seven flights, with additional daily flights from Gatwick, offering up to three flights per day between June and September.
Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways, stated, “The USA remains a priority market for us, and these network changes will be well received by our business and leisure customers, offering more options to travel between the UK and the USA.”
In the past decade, British Airways has expanded its US routes with new services to Austin, New Orleans, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Portland, and Cincinnati.
Looking ahead, British Airways has also announced new routes and increased frequencies for winter 2024 and summer 2025. A direct flight from Gatwick to Bangkok will resume on October 28, with three weekly flights increasing to up to five between January and March 2025. New services to Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah will begin in November 2024, continuing into summer 2025, along with increased flights to Riyadh.
Additionally, British Airways will add a third daily flight to Delhi in summer 2025, bringing the total number of weekly flights to India to 63 across five destinations. A second daily flight will also be introduced from Heathrow to Florence.
