Japan’s Tourism Industry Thrives Amid Growing Interest in Asia

TOKYO — Japan’s tourism sector is poised for a significant summer surge as travel agencies anticipate an increase in visitors to the region. This uptick is attributed to lower travel costs and shorter flight times to nearby destinations, especially as the yen, despite its recent strength, remains historically low, making trips to the U.S. and Europe more expensive.

“We will continue to expand our product offerings for Asian routes, as we believe that Asian destinations will increasingly attract travelers in the future,” said a spokesperson for Japanese travel agency JTB. The outlook reflects a growing trend toward regional travel within Asia, positioning Japan to benefit from the rising interest.
