Philippine Airlines has announced a significant partnership with New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, launching its operations from the new Terminal 1 to elevate the travel experience for passengers. This transition marks a pivotal change for travelers flying between Manila and New York City.

The redevelopment of JFK Airport is part of a larger $19 billion initiative spearheaded by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The project includes constructing two new terminals, modernizing existing facilities, expanding terminal spaces, establishing a cutting-edge ground transportation hub, and transforming the airport’s road network. The new Terminal 1 will serve as the centerpiece of this extensive renovation, providing an unparalleled gateway to New York City.

Currently, Philippine Airlines operates three weekly flights from JFK to Manila using modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft, ensuring non-stop service to one of the largest Filipino communities in the United States. While the airline presently operates from the existing Terminal 1, it is preparing to transition its services to the new terminal, which promises a premium experience that blends convenience, innovation, and comfort.

The forthcoming Terminal 1 is set to redefine air travel with state-of-the-art technology, upscale dining and retail options, and a distinct New York aesthetic. Its design and amenities will reflect the city’s vibrant culture, allowing travelers to enjoy a unique experience even before exploring the streets of New York. As the busiest airport in the United States for international travelers, JFK’s new terminal will further cement its status as a premier global gateway.

Philippine Airlines becomes the first Southeast Asian airline to operate from the new Terminal 1, reinforcing its role in connecting international travelers to the United States. This partnership will enhance the airline’s visibility in New York while contributing to the terminal’s expanding global network.

For Filipino travelers and international passengers, air travel between Manila and New York is poised to become more convenient, comfortable, and memorable. Passengers using Philippine Airlines at JFK’s new Terminal 1 can expect a new era of seamless, world-class travel.

“We are excited to welcome Philippine Airlines to our growing family at JFK Terminal 1,” stated Jennifer Aument, CEO of JFK Terminal 1. “Our teams are committed to providing excellent customer service, and we look forward to enhancing the airport-to-gate experience for PAL passengers traveling to and from New York.”

Stanley K. Ng, President and COO of Philippine Airlines, expressed, “Partnering with Terminal 1 is a pivotal moment for PAL. This collaboration allows us to elevate our service offerings and improve the travel experience for our passengers. Our commitment to excellence in every flight reflects our dedication to creating a seamless and memorable journey.”

Philippine Airlines is now the tenth airline to partner with JFK Terminal 1, joining other major carriers such as Air France, KLM, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, Air Serbia, Scandinavian Airlines, and Neos. Additionally, Air China has partnered with the terminal to enhance the travel experience for Chinese passengers flying to New York.

The new Terminal 1, which will be the largest terminal at JFK Airport, is set to open in phases starting in 2026. The 2.6 million square foot terminal will encompass space in the existing Terminal 1 as well as the former Terminals 2 and 3, offering spacious and modern facilities for international travelers.
