Bangkok, 11 December 2024 – Thailand has been named the “Best Worldwide Destination” at the prestigious Irish Travel Trade Awards (ITTN Awards) 2024. This recognition strengthens Thailand’s global tourism standing.
The award was presented at a ceremony held on 29 November 2024 at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Thailand was honored in the Destinations & Airports category for its ongoing commitment to exceptional service, sustainability, and cultural authenticity.
The ITTN Awards, organized by Irish Travel Trade News (ITTN), are voted on by over 5,000 travel agents. The awards recognize excellence in seven categories, including Airlines, Tour Operators, Accommodation, and Sustainability & Culture, with multiple sub-awards for each category.
This award adds to Thailand’s growing collection of international accolades, underscoring its reputation as a top global destination known for its rich culture, hospitality, and vibrant tourism sector.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), expressed her pride in the achievement, saying, “This award is a reflection of our dedication to sustainable tourism and the global recognition of Thailand’s tourism industry. The award also highlights Thailand’s popularity among Irish visitors. From January to November 2024, more than 70,000 Irish tourists visited Thailand, showcasing strong travel ties between the two countries.
