AAA reports that over 119 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home this holiday season, setting a new record for year-end travel. Among those, more than 700,000 people from Idaho are expected to be on the move.
The travel estimate, released on Wednesday, shows this year’s figures surpassing the previous holiday travel record set in 2019 by just 64,000 travelers. According to AAA, the holiday travel period spans from December 21 to January 1.
Matthew Conde, AAA Idaho’s public affairs director, warned that travelers should brace for large crowds. “No matter how you make your journey, you’ll find big crowds along the way,” he said.
