As the peak travel season begins in Dubai on Friday, December 13, Dubai Police has urged motorists to avoid using roads leading to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to ease traffic congestion. More than 5.2 million passengers are expected to travel through DXB between December 13 and 31, authorities announced Thursday.
In an advisory posted on X, Dubai Police recommended that drivers use alternative routes to help reduce traffic and ensure a smoother journey for both departing and arriving travelers. The busiest day at the airport is expected to be Friday, December 20, with nearly 296,000 guests passing through DXB. The weekend from December 20 to 22 will see even higher traffic, with an estimated 880,000 passengers expected over those three days.
On average, approximately 274,000 passengers are projected to fly in and out of DXB daily during the festive period.
