This feature, which is available on the ixigo Trains app, aims to provide greater convenience and peace of mind during the peak travel seasons.
When passengers are on a waitlist for train tickets and their booking remains unconfirmed by the time the chart is prepared, the ‘Travel Guarantee’ ensures they are refunded three times the value of their fare. This gives them the flexibility to book alternative travel options, such as flights or buses, even at the last minute.
During festive and holiday seasons, train tickets often face long waitlists due to increased demand. If passengers’ tickets aren’t confirmed, they can experience added stress as they scramble to find last-minute alternatives. These alternatives, however, often come at higher prices. With the new feature, users will be able to rebook their journey through other transportation options and avoid costly last-minute fare hikes.
