Ottawa Airport Prepares for Busy Holiday Travel with Music and Treats

by Mary

As the holiday travel season kicks into high gear, Ottawa Airport is reminding passengers to plan ahead for what are expected to be the busiest days of the year. The airport anticipates that Friday, Sunday, and Monday will see the highest volumes of travelers, with most flights reaching or nearing full capacity.

To help ease the stress and bring some festive cheer, the airport has organized a special program of holiday music and treats. From December 21 to 24, the airport will host live musical performances, including returning favorites such as Maria Hawkins, Sing House Studies, and the Maple Leaf Horn Quartet. New local talents, including Kaede Nguyen, the University of Ottawa Choir, Dickens Carolers, and the Celebration Brass Quintet, will also perform holiday classics and original tunes to spread seasonal joy.

Additionally, on December 23, passengers and greeters will be treated to “surprise and delight” goodies as part of the airport’s holiday festivities.

Krista Kealey, spokesperson for Ottawa Airport Authority, encouraged travelers to prepare for both the expected and unexpected. “Planning is key to smooth travel, as is preparing for the unexpected. Inclement weather and delays can impact flights, even during this magical time. Pack smart, arrive early, and don’t forget to pack extra patience to ensure your journey is jolly,” Kealey said in a statement.
