Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for Southern Ontario ahead of a snowstorm expected to impact the region on Friday. The advisory, issued just before 3:30 p.m., warns that snow from Lake Ontario will begin overnight. The storm, fueled by a low-pressure system, is set to bring 5 to 10 cm of snow to the area.
The snowfall is predicted to ease in the afternoon as the lake-effect snow shifts southward. However, morning commuters should be prepared for difficult driving conditions.
Environment Canada advises motorists to expect hazardous winter driving conditions, which may cause significant delays during rush hour in urban areas. Travelers are urged to adjust their plans to avoid complications during the storm.
