Kuwait Airways has announced significant changes to its travel and shipping privileges, following a decision made by its Board of Directors during meeting No. 2024/22 on December 8, 2024. The new measures, which take effect on December 31, 2024, will include the cancellation of travel ticket privileges for the Automated Systems Company and the revocation of travel benefits for retired Kuwaiti employees.
The decision also includes the annulment of Resolution No. 9 of 2002, which previously governed these privileges. The changes come as part of a broader effort to reduce the financial burden of these allocations and align with the airline’s cost-cutting goals and public interest requirements.
Captain Abdul Mohser Salem Al-Faqan, Chairman of Kuwait Airways, emphasized the importance of reviewing these changes and taking the necessary actions in light of the new provisions. He added that any conflicting decisions will also be nullified to ensure consistency with the airline’s new financial strategy.
