Roads across the Midwest will continue to see heavy traffic as the holiday season progresses, with an estimated 9.1 million people expected to travel 50 miles or more through New Year’s.
Brian Ortner from Triple-A (AAA) reports that the region is experiencing significant travel activity, and to help ensure safety on the roads, Triple-A’s Tow-to-Go program is active. This service offers free rides home to individuals who may be impaired, available within a ten-mile radius of their destination. The program will remain in operation until 6 a.m. on January 2nd.
Travelers are advised to plan ahead as traffic congestion is expected to remain high throughout the holiday period.
