Indian Railways Unveils Faster Train Timetable to Improve Efficiency

Starting January 1, 2025, Indian Railways has rolled out a new train timetable aimed at boosting passenger convenience and operational efficiency. As part of the changes, 107 long-distance trains on Western Railway (WR) have had their travel times reduced.

A total of 1,363 minutes have been saved across these 107 trains, with travel time reductions ranging from 5 minutes to 85 minutes, according to a WR official.

Notably, the Bandra Terminus – Veraval Express will now save 85 minutes on its journey. Other significant changes include the Sabarmati – Varanasi Express, which has had its travel time reduced by 55 minutes, the Bandra Terminus – Barmer Express, which will now take 45 minutes less, and the Bandra Terminus – Bikaner Express, which has been shortened by 30 minutes.

Additionally, the Amritsar – Mumbai Central Pashchim Express will save 25 minutes, while the Bandra Terminus – Bhagat Ki Kothi Express will have a reduced travel time of 15 minutes.
