Amtrak is offering a great deal on its USA Rail Pass, making it an affordable way to explore the U.S. by train. The company is currently selling the multi-ride pass for just $299, a $200 discount from the regular price of $499. The pass allows travelers to book 10 coach rides for under $30 per segment on most of Amtrak’s routes, with no blackout dates.
To take advantage of this offer, travelers must purchase the pass by January 17, 2025, and travel within 120 days of purchase. The pass must be used within 30 days of the first ride. Amtrak Guest Rewards members can also earn two points per dollar spent on the pass after the first segment.
“With big savings on the USA Rail Pass, we’re excited to offer guests a chance to create lasting memories traveling across the country,” said Eliot Hamlisch, Amtrak’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “Whether it’s a bucket-list trip, a cross-country adventure, or a series of shorter trips, the USA Rail Pass offers a stress-free alternative to flying or driving.”
The pass is valid on some of Amtrak’s most popular routes, including the Adirondack, Silver Service, Texas Eagle, and California Zephyr. However, it cannot be used on Acela trains, the Auto Train, the Maple Leaf in Canada, or on the Thruway Bus Series 7000-7999.
In addition to the USA Rail Pass, Amtrak offers other multi-ride options, including a commuter pass and the California Rail Pass, which costs $159 and allows unlimited travel on several California trains for seven days within a 21-day period.
