Portland Urges Residents to Avoid Travel as Winter Storm Approaches

With freezing rain and snow expected, the Portland Bureau of Transportation is advising residents to avoid traveling on Thursday.

In a statement, the bureau warned that streets and sidewalks are likely to be icy and hazardous on Thursday and Friday mornings as winter weather moves in. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area, beginning early Thursday morning.
