Starting in May 2025, travelers can embark on a unique seven-day walking tour of the Larapinta Trail in Central Australia, guided by two First Nations leaders and a trip leader from Intrepid Travel.
With 10 departures scheduled for 2025, the tour offers an exclusive opportunity to camp at 100% Finke River’s private campsite, located on the iconic Larapinta Trail. Hikers will cover 9-16 kilometers each day, exploring diverse landscapes and culminating in a summit at Rwetyepme (Mt Sonder) for sweeping panoramic views of Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges).
Brett Mitchell, Managing Director of Intrepid Travel ANZ, expressed excitement about the partnership with 100% Finke River, stating, “This collaboration allows travelers to experience the breathtaking beauty of Central Australia while learning from First Nations trip leaders, offering a deeper connection to the land and its history.”
Intrepid Travel is proud to be the sole tour operator working with 100% Finke River to provide this First Nations-led experience on the Larapinta Trail.
