Travellers Choice has strengthened its network by adding two new agencies: Selah and Sports Travel Australia. This move continues the company’s efforts to expand its reach.
Selah, founded in 2006, initially focused on providing travel services to Christian missionaries. The agency quickly grew to offer pilgrimage tours to Israel and Palestine. However, founder Lisa Tarzia said that following the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, Selah needed to diversify its offerings.
“To adapt, we developed travel itineraries with a spiritual focus,” Tarzia explained. “Some of these include well-known Christian destinations, like the Camino pilgrimage in Spain. Others are more unique, like Antarctica. While Jesus never visited, it’s a place where visitors can experience a sense of creation.”
This shift towards spiritually themed leisure travel has opened new growth opportunities for Selah, prompting Tarzia to join the Travellers Choice network.
With almost 40 years of experience in the travel industry, Tarzia doesn’t need much guidance, but she acknowledged the challenges of running a business alone. “It can be isolating, especially with a remote team,” she said. “I wanted a network that could support me while still seeing me as more than just another number. Travellers Choice took the time to understand my business and offers a level of personalized interaction I haven’t had before.”
