The sudden cancellation of two SpiceJet flights this week affected more than 100 passengers at the city airport.
The first cancellation occurred late on Monday evening, with a flight to Ahmedabad, followed by another on Tuesday morning to Bhavnagar.
Divesh Vora, a working professional from Vimannagar, shared his experience with TOI, explaining that he had planned to attend his cousin’s wedding in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Vora’s flight, SG-2962, was scheduled to depart Pune at 7:35 pm on Monday and reach Ahmedabad at 8:55 pm. He arrived at the airport by 5 pm and completed check-in, joining about 50-60 other passengers at the boarding gate, but no airline staff was present.
“About 15 minutes before the scheduled departure, we were informed that the flight would be delayed until 11:15 pm due to a technical issue. I had everything planned, but my travel plans were ruined. There was no resolution offered, and I ultimately couldn’t attend my brother’s wedding. I checked for last-minute tickets, but the prices were exorbitant,” Vora said.
