Wentworth Travel Celebrates 40 Years of Success in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs

Founded in 1985, Casanna Travel began as a small travel agency in Double Bay, Sydney. Co-Founders Bev Cohen and Margaret Ann Mayo saw an opportunity to create a boutique agency for the city’s Eastern Suburbs. The office, located in the Edgecliff Centre, was modest, with just two dial-up phones and a telex machine.

In 1993, Cohen took full ownership of the business, rebranding it as Wentworth Travel. She also appointed her 19-year-old daughter, Anna McMurtrie, as co-director to meet legal requirements. McMurtrie praised her mother’s strong intuition for the travel industry, noting that Cohen built Wentworth Travel around core values of service, loyalty, and relationships.
