Air India Enhances Travel Routes Between UK, Australia & Southeast Asia

by Mary

Air India is improving travel efficiency between the UK, Australia, and Southeast Asia by reducing connection times to just 2.5 hours at its hub airports in Delhi and Mumbai. This change comes in response to a surge in international travel between these regions from 2023 to 2024, giving Air India the opportunity to streamline its services and enhance connectivity.

The airline’s geographical advantage and strong infrastructure allow for quick and convenient one-stop access for travelers between the West and East. According to Nipun Aggarwal, Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, the airline is leveraging its robust route network to make these connections even more seamless.

Air India operates daily flights from London Heathrow to Delhi, and continues to offer routes from Delhi to major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and other parts of Asia. The new shorter connection times allow for smooth same-terminal transfers for passengers.

Travelers on these routes will also benefit from Air India’s newest aircraft, the A350-900, which debuted in September 2024. The state-of-the-art plane features wider cabins, upgraded interiors, advanced entertainment systems, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

In addition to the new route improvements, Air India has launched the ‘Via’ marketing campaign to spread the word and establish India as a world-class hub for air travel.
