The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) held a meeting of its Tourism Coordinating Council (TCC) on Tuesday, March 18, to discuss ongoing efforts to streamline travel processes and address critical issues in the country’s tourism industry.
The TCC highlighted several challenges affecting the sector, including limitations in air connectivity, slow growth in key outbound markets, geopolitical uncertainties, and capacity constraints at popular destinations.
In a statement issued on Friday, March 21, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco emphasized the DOT’s commitment to overcoming these hurdles. “To address these challenges, the DOT has intensified efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure and streamline travel processes by fostering strategic partnerships with key government agencies,” Frasco said.
