On March 24, United Airlines announced updates to its lounge memberships and rewards credit card offerings, increasing annual fees while introducing new benefits and incentives for cardholders.
Individual lounge memberships now cost $750 or 94,000 miles. In addition, members who wish to bring two guests into the United Club and Star Alliance lounges will face a fee of $1,400 or 175,000 miles, up from the previous cost of $650 a year. Discounts for customers with elite frequent flyer status will no longer apply to the guest admission fee.
These changes reflect United’s shift to raise lounge access costs while providing added value to its membership offerings.
