Beginning March 31, 2025, travelers from France planning extended stays in China will face a digital shift in the visa application process. The Chinese government has announced that an online pre-verification step will become mandatory for all visa applications submitted from France.
This change, aimed at modernizing China’s consular systems, is expected to streamline document screening and improve efficiency. The new procedure will be in effect at both the Chinese Visa Application Centers in Paris and Marseille.
All travelers, except those visiting Hong Kong or Macau, must now upload their documents online for pre-screening before proceeding with the official visa application.
