Australians will soon experience quicker border clearance at US airports thanks to an expansion of the United States’ Global Entry Program. New laws passed by the Australian federal parliament will allow Australian passengers to join the program, which provides faster entry to the US with less paperwork and shorter lines.
While a small group of Australians has already been able to access the program since January, the full expansion will allow all eligible travelers to apply starting in the second half of 2025.
To qualify for the program, travelers must pass background checks from both Australian and US authorities, including a clean criminal record.
