The Balochistan government has imposed a ban on night-time travel on key national highways due to a surge in terrorist attacks on major roads in recent weeks.
The ban, effective from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., covers important routes in Kachhi, Noshki, Musa Khel, Gwadar, and Zhob districts. Notifications enforcing the decision have been issued by various deputy commissioners across the province.
The decision was made following a high-level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. The meeting also focused on enhancing security operations against terrorist groups.
Officials present at the meeting included the chief secretary, additional chief secretary for home affairs, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP). The security plan for Eid and an overall review of the law and order situation in the province were also discussed.
The meeting acknowledged the successful operations carried out by security forces in Kalat, strengthening their commitment to combating terrorism across the region.
