This summer, more travelers are choosing scenic, active journeys, according to Explore Worldwide. The B-Corp certified small group adventure tour operator is seeing a rise in bookings for walking, hiking, and cycling tours. These trips blend famous trails with lesser-known paths in both popular and classic destinations, reflecting a shift towards slower, more immersive travel experiences in Europe.
Katy Rockett, regional director of North America for Explore Worldwide, reports that walking and hiking tours have increased by 47% year-over-year, while cycling holidays have grown by 27%. “Travelers are looking for new adventures that allow them to connect more deeply with the destinations they visit,” says Rockett. “Each trip is graded, helping travelers choose the best adventure for them, whether that’s a relaxed walking tour in the Baltic countries or a challenging trek to Mont Blanc in France.”
Explore Worldwide offers over 350 tours across more than 100 countries, with new active experiences planned for 2025. These include hiking tours through the rugged landscapes of Northern Ireland and the Faroe Islands, as well as cycling through France’s Loire Valley.
Additionally, Explore is offering a limited-time promotion with up to 20% off select small group adventures across Europe, Turkey, and Georgia. This offer is available for travel between June and November 2025, with bookings open from April 1 to April 10, 2025.
