International travel bookings from Singapore for the Hari Raya Puasa season (March 29 to April 6, 2025) have surged by more than 60% compared to last year. This increase highlights a shift in travel habits, with travelers seeking more diverse and unique experiences.
New destinations are emerging as favorites. Cities like Guangzhou, Osaka, and Chongqing have entered the top 10 list of most popular travel spots for the first time, signaling a break from traditional travel patterns. Secondary cities such as Chengdu, Busan, and Shenzhen have also seen a sharp rise in bookings, with demand more than doubling from the previous year.
While popular destinations like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur remain at the top, travelers are increasingly exploring more distant places. Interest in Europe and North America has grown, with countries like Spain, France, Italy, and Canada seeing bookings triple compared to last year. For those seeking more adventurous travel, Lima, Peru, has emerged as the furthest destination for the Hari Raya season.
In addition to exploring new locations, travelers are opting for longer vacations. The average trip length has increased to 9.19 days in 2025, up from 8.38 days last year. Spending on flights and accommodations has also grown by 5.9%, reflecting a willingness to invest in extended holidays.
Theme parks continue to be a top choice, with popular spots like Universal Studios Japan, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort leading the bookings for this season.
