In March, approximately 2.5 million travelers passed through Swedavia’s ten airports across Sweden, marking a strong recovery to 75% of pre-pandemic levels from 2019.
However, this figure also shows a slight decline compared to the same period in 2024. This dip can be partially attributed to external factors such as recent strikes and the temporary shutdown of London Heathrow Airport, which affected international flight schedules.
Despite this minor decrease, the overall air travel landscape in Sweden is mixed. International travel continues to show resilience, while domestic travel remains on a decline.
April is expected to bring a boost to Swedavia’s network, especially at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, with the launch of new and resumed international routes as part of the summer traffic program.
