Albatros Expeditions and Polar Latitudes are joining forces under a shared ownership group to streamline their Arctic and Antarctic expedition cruise offerings. The partnership aims to combine their expertise and resources, resulting in a unified polar operations fleet starting in the 2025/26 season.
The new fleet will include four vessels: Ocean Albatros, Ocean Victory, MS Seaventure, and Ocean Nova, offering guests a diverse range of immersive polar experiences while focusing on low-emission voyages.
Albatros Expeditions recently became the sole owner of its flagship vessel, Ocean Albatros, which will operate year-round. Additionally, the company holds a long-term charter for Ocean Victory, a state-of-the-art vessel for Antarctic expeditions. Both ships are equipped with X-bow technology, which enhances fuel efficiency and reduces emissions, marking them as leaders in sustainable travel within the Antarctic market.
Polar Latitudes, a US-based expedition cruise company, is renowned for its exceptional Antarctic experiences, leadership in Citizen Science, and strong support for NGOs dedicated to preserving the polar regions. According to Polar Latitudes CEO, John McKeon, this merger will provide enhanced offerings for adventurous travelers, backed by the combined strengths of both companies.
