The City of South Fulton has introduced a new international travel policy following scrutiny over taxpayer-funded trips taken by the mayor.
On Tuesday night, the city council passed a resolution outlining guidelines for the use of public funds for overseas travel.
“The purpose of this policy is to establish clear guidelines and procedures for international travel conducted by City of South Fulton employees and elected officials,” the resolution states.
The policy aims to ensure that international travel aligns with the city’s economic and development goals, is cost-effective, and adheres to all relevant laws and regulations. It also emphasizes transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of public funds.
