Canadian travel habits are shifting in early 2025, with fewer travelers heading to the United States.
FlightHub’s analysis of booking trends from February and March shows a clear decline in flights bound for the U.S. Bookings dropped by 26 percentage points from January to February 2025, and the downward trend continued into March with an additional 13-point decrease.
Between March 28 and April 7—a period marked by global uncertainty and market volatility.
Interestingly, this decline in travel demand coincided with falling airfare prices. During the same period, the average cost of flights to the U.S. dropped by 20%, suggesting that even lower prices aren’t enough to reverse the trend.
