MADRID, 30 July 2024 – Spain’s status as a premier travel destination continues to soar, with the country welcoming 57.7 million international visitors between January and August 2023—a nearly 20% increase from the previous year. This surge in tourism is bolstered by Spain’s visa-free access for citizens of 86 countries, including major destinations like the USA, Brazil, the UK, and Schengen nations.

Spain’s diverse attractions—from the bustling metropolis of Madrid to the historic charm of Barcelona and the sun-drenched beaches of Costa del Sol—offer a wealth of experiences for travelers. The ease of visa-free entry has further enhanced Spain’s appeal, making it an even more attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers.

Mr. Anup Kumar Keshan, Editor-in-Chief of TTW, shared his recent experience in Spain: “The integration of modern amenities with Spain’s rich historical heritage was impressive. Efficient services at airports and railway stations contributed to a smooth travel experience. The high-speed train journey from Madrid to Seville, with its stunning views of the Spanish countryside, was a highlight. The blend of tradition and innovation, along with the warm hospitality, made my visit memorable and underscored Spain’s appeal for both leisure and business travelers, particularly in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector.”

Spain’s vibrant mix of history, culture, and natural beauty attracts a wide range of visitors. The rise of “bleisure” travel—combining business with leisure—reflects this trend. In August 2023 alone, Spain saw a significant influx of tourists from the United Kingdom, with 2 million international visitors arriving.

The country is renowned for its culinary delights, such as tapas and paella, and iconic events like the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. With its inviting climate and friendly locals, Spain continues to offer an unforgettable escape where tradition and modernity converge.
