The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has officially announced the third edition of the Buddhist International Travel Mart (BITM) 2025, scheduled to take place from May 23 to 25 in Kathmandu and Lumbini.
The announcement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between NATTA and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) to co-organize the event. The MoU was signed by Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB, and Kumar Mani Thapaliya, President of NATTA.
BITM 2025 is expected to host over 150 international buyers with a focus on Buddhist tourism, along with more than 60 national and international sellers. Participating nations will include key Buddhist countries such as India, China, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
Organizers anticipate more than 1,100 attendees, including tourism professionals, Buddhist practitioners, stakeholders, and media representatives.
The event aims to boost Nepal’s profile as a key hub for Buddhist pilgrimage and heritage tourism, spotlighting sacred sites like Lumbini—the birthplace of the Buddha.
