Intrepid Travel has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Yalka Ratara Aboriginal Corporation, granting it exclusive rights to offer immersive glamping stays at the newly launched Yalka Eco Stays in the heart of Finke Gorge National Park.
Nestled within the rugged beauty of Palm Valley, Yalka Eco Stays features eight sustainably designed, air-conditioned tents with ensuite bathrooms—offering travelers a rare blend of modern comfort and raw natural wonder in one of Australia’s most remote and sacred landscapes.
This eco-luxury retreat marks a milestone in Indigenous-led tourism. Made possible through a major 2021 grant from the Federal Aboriginal Benefits Account (ABA), the project also received support from Tourism NT’s Aboriginal Tourism Development in Parks and Reserves Program, the NT Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations, as well as the Central Land Council and NT Parks & Wildlife Commission.
The result: a world-class, culturally grounded tourism offering that not only elevates the Red Centre’s visitor experience but also empowers the Yalka Ratara Aboriginal community through sustainable enterprise and cultural preservation.
