Mary

Hungarian State Railways (MÁV-Start) has reported a record number of international travelers in 2024, with over 780,000 passengers journeying across borders in the first seven months of the year, according to Világgazdaság.

The increase in international travel has been accompanied by a notable shift towards online ticketing. Approximately 60 percent of passengers now choose to purchase tickets online, up from 57.8 percent in 2023. This trend highlights a growing preference for digital ticketing platforms, while sales through traditional ticket offices have declined to around 41 percent.
