The Kyiv Independent is set to launch a new travel show titled Dare to Ukraine, aimed at showcasing the rich cultural tapestry and everyday life of Ukraine’s diverse regions. Hosted by Masha Lavrova, the six-episode series will take viewers on a journey through six different regions across the country, delving into local culture, architecture, cuisine, popular activities, and the lives of the people who call these places home.
The premiere episode of Dare to Ukraine is scheduled for release on August 31 on the Kyiv Independent’s YouTube channel.
Ukraine, the largest country in Europe, boasts a deep historical legacy, a vibrant modern culture, and an increasingly dynamic presence on the global stage. However, until Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, many people around the world were unfamiliar with the country, often unable to locate it on a map. While the international community has since become more aware of Ukraine, much of this awareness remains focused on the ongoing conflict. Through Dare to Ukraine, the Kyiv Independent seeks to shift this narrative, offering a more nuanced and comprehensive view of the country beyond the war.
