As fall approaches, travelers looking for the best deals on weekend getaways should take note of new data from the travel site Hopper. According to their latest figures, domestic flights for weekends in September, starting after Labor Day, average around $270 for a round-trip ticket. Prices are expected to increase in October, peaking around the Columbus Day long weekend at approximately $341. However, costs are projected to decrease again to about $278 around Halloween.
Travelers can further enhance their savings by adjusting their flight days. Hopper’s analysis suggests that flying from Saturday to Tuesday, rather than the traditional Thursday to Sunday, can result in a 17 percent discount on airfare.
