New ETIAS Rules for Australian Travelers to Take Effect in 2025

Mary

Australian travelers will face new entry requirements when visiting Europe starting in 2025. The European Union is set to implement new regulations under the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), which introduces an application fee of $11.50 for Australians.

Previously, Australians could travel to Europe without a visa, but under the new ETIAS program, this will change. The ETIAS system is designed to enhance security by requiring visa-exempt nationals from 60 countries, including Australia, to obtain authorization prior to their trip.

The ETIAS program is scheduled to be fully operational in the first half of 2025, marking a significant shift in travel regulations for Australians heading to the tourism-rich continent.
