BEIJING — China has reinstated imports of Taiwanese pomelos as of Monday, following an announcement earlier this week that permits travel for Fujian residents to the Taiwan-administered Kinmen Islands.

On Friday, China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism revealed the lifting of travel restrictions, a decision prompted by a request from a delegation from Kinmen. This delegation, which included Chen Yu-jen, a Taiwanese opposition Kuomintang lawmaker, met with Song Tao, the head of China’s Taiwan Affairs Office, in Beijing on August 22.
