Cathay Pacific has announced that maintenance work on its Airbus A350 fleet is progressing well. The airline identified 15 aircraft with engine fuel lines needing replacement. Of these, six have been successfully repaired and are cleared for operation. The remaining nine aircraft are expected to be repaired and return to service by Saturday, 7 September.
In addition to previously announced flight cancellations, Cathay Pacific will cancel 11 more regional return flights between 5 and 7 September. Affected passengers have been notified and provided with alternative travel arrangements on Cathay Pacific and other airlines as necessary. The airline has bolstered its Customer Care resources both online and at the airport to assist those impacted. Updated flight information can be found at cathaypacific.com.
Cathay Pacific stated, “We do not anticipate any further cancellations beyond those already announced.”
In total, including previously communicated cancellations, the airline has canceled 45 return flights between 2 and 7 September. Except for one long-haul flight on 2 September, all cancellations are for regional routes. The airline has expressed sincere apologies for the disruption and appreciates the patience and understanding of its customers.
