TAIPEI, TAIWAN — The Executive Yuan issued a travel and business advisory for China on Wednesday following reports that Beijing is recruiting Taiwanese individuals to help obscure the use of forced Uighur labor in Xinjiang.

Julia Hsieh, Acting Spokeswoman for the Executive Yuan, revealed at a press conference that Taiwanese influencers and businesses have been approached by Chinese entities to create pro-Beijing content and are being offered incentives to invest in the region.

Hsieh cautioned Taiwanese citizens about the potential risks to personal safety and professional reputation associated with visiting or conducting business in China. She assured that relevant agencies are fully informed about the situation and are monitoring developments closely.
