A recent global State of the Market Survey forecasts a significant increase in business travel by 2025. According to the survey, 40% of businesses plan to expand their travel from July 2024 to June 2025, with 42% of corporates expecting to spend more than they did in 2024.

Conducted by Flight Centre Corporate, the online survey targeted Corporate Traveller and FCM Travel clients, including decision-makers, travel managers, and authorized travel bookers. It garnered over 500 responses, revealing that 10% of respondents intend to travel more than 20% extra, 30% plan to increase travel by up to 20%, and 35% expect travel levels to remain unchanged, with only 10% anticipating a reduction.

In terms of expenditure, 6% of respondents plan to increase their spending on travel by over 20%, 36% aim to raise spending by up to 20%, 31% expect their spending to remain similar to last year, and 11% foresee a decrease.

The survey highlights EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) as experiencing the strongest growth in business travel intentions. This trend underscores the essential role of business travel for corporations and suggests a positive impact on local economies and communities. Steve Norris, EMEA Managing Director at Flight Centre Travel Group, emphasized the crucial role of business travel in fostering growth, building relationships, and leveraging opportunities, noting that the rise in travel will benefit both businesses and local economies through the popular ‘bleisure’ trend.
