French Citizens Advised to Refrain from Traveling to Venezuela

French nationals have been strongly advised to avoid all travel to Venezuela following recent security concerns. The warning comes after the arrest of three U.S. nationals, two Spaniards, and one Czech national, who were allegedly involved in a plot to assassinate President Nicolás Maduro with purported support from the CIA.

The advisory, released on Sunday, also recommends that French citizens currently in Venezuela steer clear of political demonstrations and gatherings. It cautions against making public statements regarding the political climate, citing a “resurgence of tensions” in the wake of the controversial elections held on June 28.

Travelers are also advised to remain vigilant about potential threats from both local Bolivarian regime forces and Colombian terrorist groups operating in neighboring regions.
