The Advantage Travel Partnership reports a significant increase in new customers among its business travel members during 2024, signaling a robust outlook for the industry. According to the UK-based consortium, 69% of its corporate travel members have secured more new business this year compared to 2023.
One-third of members within Advantage’s Global Business Travel division anticipate that corporate spending on travel will rise in 2025. These trends suggest that the global business travel supply chain is experiencing a resurgence.
CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said noted, “With the influx of new customers across both leisure and business sectors, we expect a very strong year for travel in 2025.” Meanwhile, Andrea Caulfield-Smith, managing director of global business travel at Advantage, observed that while corporate travel is rebounding, the average transaction value is declining.
This trend is attributed to a shift in booking patterns, with travelers increasingly opting for sustainable travel choices. “We’re seeing growth in premium economy and economy class as younger travelers prefer these options and book further in advance,” she explained. On average, bookings are now made over 30 days in advance, with some corporations planning trips up to five months ahead.
Caulfield-Smith also highlighted a growing trend among corporate clients to implement more flexible travel policies. This includes allowing individual travelers to have a specific budget for trips based on destination and distance, enabling them to utilize any savings for upgrades on future travel.
