Duty Free Americas, the largest travel retailer in the Americas and part of the family-operated Falic Group, has announced a global joint venture with Mumbai Travel Retail Private Limited (Ospree), a subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited.
The collaboration will initially target Europe, launching the Le Marché Duty Free at the Eurotunnel French Terminal in Coquelles, near Calais. The partners aim to develop a 1,000 square meter customer experience area as part of the joint venture.
This agreement also includes the Coquelles contract won by Ospree Duty Free earlier this year, signifying a strategic effort to leverage synergies and tap into the growing European travel retail market.
Under the partnership, the Coquelles store will feature approximately 800 square meters of duty-free space within the Passenger Terminal and an additional 75 square meters in the goods terminal, marking the first time duty-free services will be available to HGV drivers.
Adani Airport Holdings Limited’s Non-Aero CEO, Harshad Jain, stated that this partnership represents a significant milestone for Ospree as it enters the global market. He emphasized the potential of Europe as a travel retail destination and the anticipated growth for Ospree.
Duty Free Americas President Leon Falic highlighted that collaborating with Ospree aligns with their goals for international expansion. He expressed commitment to enhancing customer experiences and improving travel retail standards across Europe and beyond.
