China’s railway network is projected to accommodate 175 million passenger trips during the upcoming National Day holiday travel rush, according to an announcement from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
The seven-day National Day holiday will begin on October 1 and conclude on October 7 this year. The travel peak is expected to occur on Tuesday, with more than 21 million trips forecasted for that day.
From October 1 to October 8, the railway travel surge will consist of a mix of tourists, family visits, and student travel, the company noted.
To address the increased demand for travel, the railway authorities plan to implement measures aimed at enhancing transportation capacity, improving services, and ensuring that trips are safe, orderly, and enjoyable for all passengers.
